Lovefest: How to Link to Another Page from Yours

So you have a Page for your business, organization or interest group. You know how to post about your own events and news, but now you just planned an awesome partnership event, or just think your audience would be interested in something another Page has posted about.

I get questions about this a lot. One would think that you could have your Page “like” another page so that you can tag it in your posts…and people get frustrated hunting for some magic hidden way to do this. Unfortunately, that feature doesn’t exist today, so you have to do it old-school style.

In order to highlight another Page you have to “Like” it from your personal profile so that you, as an admin, can tag it in your Page post.

  1. From your personal profile (or whichever profile manages the Page), find the Page you want to link to and “Like” it.
  2. Then, when you go to your page and post, type @nameofPage; you’ll see a drop-down list of options, click the one you mean, and keep on typing and share as usual.

The slight downside to this is that you end up having a bunch of Pages on your own profile, and you need to keep them there in order to maintain the ability to tag them, but if you try to keep your personal FB life separate from your business FB life, you can always remove the Activity on your profile that says that you “Liked” a certain page.
