Apple Fans, good news! If you have a frayed or “strain relief” adapter, Apple has updated their program on how to replace your cord. Their website details how Apple’s Adapter Replacement Program works, and specifically notes what strain relief is and looks like and offers its Resolution Policy on how to obtain a replacement adapter. Do you use a shared computer, maybe your Mac at home that you use for personal and community work but that your significant other or little ones use for games, news, etc? It’s easy to protect certain documents from anybody accidentally deleting or changing them. In the Finder window, right-click on the folder and choose “Get Info” and then at the bottom of that little window is “Sharing & Permissions” where you can set permissions based on user accounts/group, administrator, or “everyone.” Protect now to avoid having to recover later!

So maybe you’ve downloaded some songs from Amazon or somebody has sent you a song or a podcast. You know how to get music from your CDs into iTunes, but what about these? It’s as simple as uploading a photo to Facebook or attaching something to an email. Open iTunes. Click on “File”; if you’re on a PC you’ll see the option to “Add File to Library”; on a Mac it will be “Add Music to Library”. Select that option by clicking on it and you’ll be taken to your file folders. Find the music file (probably a .mp3 file)….

Someone asked how to add BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) to their Mac using the Apple Mail client. This is easy. Just go to your email and compose a new message. You will see it has a “To” line, and a “CC” line. See the small drop down to your left? Click that open. You will see your CC address field checked off, and then you will see your BCC address field.
